the Concert History
The
non violence foundation is a non profit charity
organisation dedicated to educting people against using
violence. The Non-Violence Foundation
was founded in 1994
by Dr Michael Nobel as a not for profit organization in Geneva,
Switzerland. Today the Foundation operates in the
United States, South Africa, Brazil, England and Germany.
Since 1993 the Non-Violence Foundation has inspired and involved over
1,300,000 young people on four continents to
help build a safer society. The Non-Violence Foundation
has developed a wide range of school educational programs
as well as after school activity programs based on sports,
music and the Arts.
The participants' enthusiasm towards the programs has been well above
expectation and they have been keen to
establish Non Violence prevention groups within their communities to counter
the growing trends of not just
violence, but crime. The Knotted Gun has
become a
universal symbol for non violence and for people and
organizations committed to working to build
safer communities.

It can be found outside the United Nations
Headquarters in New York City, the Olympic
Museum in Lausanne and in prominent
locations in Stockholm, Cape Town and Miami.
The increasing trend of youth violence
around the world simply proves the greater
need for the Non-Violence Foundation,
it's symbol and values. The Symbol
The symbol of the Non-Violence Foundation
is the Knotted Gun. It is based on a sculpture
created by C.F. Reuterswärd as an everlasting
memorial to John Lennon.
Replicas of the sculpture can be seen at over
20 sites around the world, with more sites being
added each year.
Of all these sites, the United Nations
Headquarters in New York is probably the most well known, while the knotted
gun sculpture
at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne
attracts more photographic attention than any
other object displayed there.
