The Concert On 12th October 2001 the Non-Violence
Foundation will be staging 'Imagine the Concert'
at the 15,000 capacity Manchester Evening News Arena in England. The concert,
a tribute to John
Lennon,
is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the UK release of Lennon's
groundbreaking album,
'Imagine'. The concert will showcase Lennon's
classic songs being performed chronologically in front of huge video screens
showing archive footage of Lennon and the era that his music shaped.
Alongside established 'megastars', the show will feature credible young
artists who have been influenced by Lennon

television and radio broadcast and there will also be a live webcast.
The event will be promoted by NVF
Productions Ltd.
The line up for the concert will be announced at the end of June and tickets
will go on sale shortly after. Tickets will cost £20 plus booking fee
and will
be available from the Manchester Evening News Arena box office
and usual ticket outlets.

History The Non-Violence
Foundation was founded in 1994 by Dr
Michael Nobel
as a not for profit organization in Geneva, Switzerland and china
Today the Foundation operates in the United States, South Africa, Brazil,

has inspired and involved over 1,200,000 young people on four

for non-violence and for people and organizations committed to working

It can be found outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York City,
the Olympic Museum in Lausanne
and in prominent locations in Stockholm, Cape Town and Miami. The increasing
trend of youth violence
around the world simply proves the greater need for the Non
Violence Foundation, it's symbol and values.
The Symbol The symbol of the Non-Violence Foundation is
the Knotted Gun.
It is based on a sculpture
created by C.F. Reuterswärd as an everlasting memorial to John
Lennon.
Replicas of the sculpture can be seen at over 20 sites around the world,

Of all these sites, probably the United Nations Headquarters in New York is
the most famous,
while the knotted gun sculpture at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne attracts
